New Galleries – Indiana Gathering and Ryan Pictures

I added a few new galleries today, one from the weekend of November 8, 2008 in Indiana.  Eric and Emily made the trip to Indiana with the triplets, so everyone was together for the weekend at Dave & Mindy’s.  This was the first time Ryan got to meet many of the Pettet family, and there are some great pictures of him with Grandpa and Grandma Pettet.

Also finished the Ryan’s 6th month gallery and started the 7th month.

Ryan’s Fifth and Sixth Month Galleries

I finally got the fifth month pictures up today, and got most of the sixth month up (still 10 days left until he reaches six months, as of today) so I’ll add to this gallery later.

The fifth month gallery has pictures of Ryan with Grandpa Walt, Aunt Karen & Uncle Terry, and Aunt Kim.

The sixth month features Ryan at a pumpkin patch,  and wearing his first halloween costumes.  Jen bought him the dragon outfit, and Grandma Lola brought him the pumpkin outfit.

New Pictures

I’ve been falling behind a little lately on publishing pictures.  Tonight, I completed the Ryan’s Third Month gallery.  Now I’ve got to get the 4th month pictures together.

Also published the pontoon outing from August 17th.  Mom, Karen, Terry, Kim, Mike, Zack, Billy, Val, Joey, Dave, Jen, and Ryan on an all-day cruise of Spring Lake.

April 2003 Pictures

I just put up an album from a trip Jen and I made from Memphis to Lansing in April, 2003.  We were celebrating birthdays that weekend, Val’s 40th, Mom’s 66th and my 37th.

We started out on my birthday at the Michigan Brewing Company, one of Kim’s notorious nights out.  Then we celebrated Val’s 40th and Mom’s birthday at a campfire party at Val’s.

Family Picnic Pictures and Ryan’s Third Month Albums

I published a bunch of new pictures tonight. Last weekend, Jen and I made two trips down to Bath. On Saturday we spent the afternoon hanging out with Val, Joey, and Rob at Joey’s apartment pool party with the Uptown Band playing. Saturday night I went to the Ionia Free Fair tractor pulls with Nate and Billy, and we all had a great time watching the big display of horsepower.

Sunday we made another trip down to have a family picnic with Dad. He was going in for knee replacement surgery on Monday morning, and wanted to get together with everyone before then. I captured a nice series of pictures of Dad telling a story using the continuous shooting mode on our camera.

I also started the Ryan’s Third Month album with a number of pictures we have so far. There is a picture in that album that Val took of Jen and Ryan that is just fantastic, just mom and baby’s faces together. There are two exposures of that one in the album.

Ryan’s Third Month

4th of July Weekend 2008

We had a great weekend July 3-6 at the cabin.  For the first time since the 80s, Karen and Terry were able to make it – at least for one night as they were busy moving into their new home.  It’s great to have them back!  Julie made it this year, and Nate and Emma came up as well.  Nate brought a boat, so we had two boats to tool around in this weekend.  We spent a good bit of time with the boats tied up together in the middle of the lake, just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather.  As if by design, it had stormed the day before we went up and the day after we got home, but the weekend was perfect.

Overall, we had Mom; Karen & Terry; Julie, Nate & Emma; Kim, Mike, Elise, Zack & Billy; Val, Joey & Matt; Dave, Jen & Ryan all together.

I don’t think anyone enjoyed the weekend more than Jen.  Ryan has been a full-time job, and she really needed a weekend to get out of the house.  She got plenty of help with him, of course, because everyone got their turn at holding him and helping with some bottle-feeding.  Ryan was very good all weekend, his first cabin trip at seven weeks old.  I think he really likes the outdoors.  He got to take his naps in the new pack-and-play crib that Grandma Lola bought him, lying in the shade with a mosquito net over the crib to keep the bugs off him.  We also bought a nice little Coleman ProCat catalytic heater that is specifically designed to be used in tents, which kept the tent at a nice mild temperature all night.  I think he was going through a growth spurt this weekend, because he slept quite a bit.  The first full day back home, he was at it all day long.

Since we missed Memorial Day weekend this year (too close to Ryan’s birth), 4th of July weekend was much anticipated.  We’re going to try and plan another weekend in early August to make up for it, along with the traditional Labor Day weekend trip.

I’ve uploaded a bunch of pics from the weekend in the Dave & Jen gallery.  Here’s a quick link.
